Solgar Advanced Acidophilus Plus Vegetable Capsules Pack of 60 contains two specially cultured strains of L. acidophilus (LA-5) and B. Lactis (BB-12) in a non-dairy formulation. Each capsule provides 500 million beneficial microorganisms that are able to survive stomach acidity and reside in the lower digestive tract. Utilizing a polysaccharide matrix technology, these probiotics are protected from destruction by stomach acid and do not require refrigeration. The strains used have been extensively researched and can naturally be found in the intestines, where they support digestion, vitamin production, and the immune system. If your diet lacks fermented foods, this supplement is a safe and effective way to increase the level of friendly bacteria in your gut. Both strains have been granted Qualified Presumption of Safety (QPS) by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
